Pre Christmas Sales

At this point, only a week till Christmas, retailers are keen to encourage last minute shoppers. That can only mean one thing: pre Christmas sales. My favourite three retailers, T M Lewin, Charles Tyrwhitt, and Hawes & Curtis are all running sales promotions. However, it is Hawes & Curtis have some of the best deals at the moment.

Tyrwhitt are having a warehouse moving sale (rather than a Christmas sale you understand). They are moving who uses ad. They prefer to seek stock at a discount than pay large amounts to have it moved they claim. However, my guess is that a number of their best offers have already gone. But have a look. They are of course offering their 4 shirts for £100 deal at the moment.

Lewin have countered with a 5 shirts for £100 offer which is stonking value. even better they have thrown in free delivery. Given they also offer free returns, neither if which you will get from Tyrwhitt, it’s easy to see why TML is my preferred outfitter. They also have suits on sale.

However, it is to H&C that one must look for the best deals. Shirts are available from £19.13 each. So no need to spend £100 you can buy a single new shirt if that is all you want or need. However, there is no free delivery (or returns).

Whilst you have a look at the H&C website have a look at their shoes! This is a new development. H&C have teamed up with Barker to be able to offer their shoes via the H&C website. I haven’t yet worked out whether they are also available in store. Sadly there are no sales offers on the shoes. It is a significant development because up til now H&C was not a one stop shop for gentleman’s outfitting. Now it is. All that is needed now is for them to begin to offer their excellent suits online. At the moments was has to go into the flagship store to find their suits.

So if you are trying to figure out a last minute Christmas present, whether for yourself or the man in your life, or having bought gifts for others think you better get some Jermyn Street tailoring, why wait for the boxing day sales? You can start early….
