Stylish Winter Coats

I’ve been thinking about winter coats over the last few weeks.  With the wintry weather in the north east of England I have been wearing mine rather a lot recently. 

It occurs to me that there is little point in putting together a stylish ensemble only then to cover it up with an unstylish coat.

In addition, if you’ve been experimenting with colour as I have been doing it helps to have a range of coats which complement those colours.  In my case I have two smart coats, which are rather similar, one in charcoal and the other in black.

CT Fawn Covert CoatAdditional coats in navy, fawn, or green tweed, would certainly broaden the range of possibilities.  A variety of weights would be a good idea also, with lighter weights to worn in spring/summer.

If you have been guilty of covering up your finery with an ugly coat, you might want to give some thought to repentance…. Here are some of my favourites:
